FIFMA – INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL FOR FILM ON FINE CRAFT PROFESSIONS RETURNS MARCH 8-11, 2018!
FIFMA – the International Festival for Film on Fine Craft Professions – was created in 1998, in Montpellier, under the initiative of Ateliers d’Art de France, with a simple ambition: to reveal the diversity and identity of fine crafts to the larger public, with the conviction that cinema and image constitute one of the best means to reach this goal.
For 20 ans, FIFMA has not ceased expanding in order to reach an ever-growing public. Previously centered on fine crafts based on clay, then glass, FIFMA was the essential rendez-vous for fine craft professionals and enthusiasts. It took a giant leap in 2001 to expand to all fine crafts, all practices, all materials, in an effort to attract an even larger public. It became a genuine witness to these creative professions throughout the continents.
In 2016, for its 10th edition, FIFMA decided to settle in Seine-Saint-Denis in partnership with Est Ensemble: at the Méliès cinema in Montreuil for the international competition with its larger public, and in Pantin, at the Ciné 104, for its educational section, the FIFMA for Schools.
In 2018, FIFMA is returning to the Méliès cinema, March 8-11, with more than 25 films in competition, special showings, a large program of debates, encounters and a special exhibition.
As to its educational section, it is extending even further to the cities of Montreuil and Bagnolet.
