FIFMA FOR SCHOOLS

The FIFMA for Schools is the young audience section of the FIFMA. It is involved with the youth of Seine-Saint-Denis. Its aim? Raising the students’ awareness of fine crafts professions, encouraging them to develop a critical perspective, and promoting encounters with fine craft artists and film directors.

After two editions in 2016 and 2018, the FIFMA for Schools returns in 2020 in the cities of Pantin, Montreuil, Bagnolet and Pré Saint Gervais. Around 30 classes of primary and secondary schools / highschools, representing 700 students, will participate in a fine crafts discovery course.

The programme :

  • Practical initiation hand-on workshops
  • Fine crafts know-how demonstrations
  • Fine crafts workshops visits
  • A visit of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs,
  • A visit of the FIFMA Exhibition Version Originale 2 at the Centre Tignous d’art contemporain de Montreuil

At the end of this discovery course, the students will gather for film screenings at the Cin’Hoche cinema in Bagnolet on April 22nd, at the Méliès cinema in Montreuil on April 23rd, and at the Ciné 104 cinema in Pantin on April 24th.

A selection of around ten fine crafts films will be presented, the students will then be able to vote for their favourite film, and award the 2 FIFMA for Schools Prizes.
