Synopsis :
“Almost 600 years ago, a master dyer named Jean Gobelin sets up his workshop on the shores of the Bièvre, a river which is today buried. His ambition was to find the formula for a scarlet red which would dazzle and resist the passage of time.” Thus begins Julie Nguyen Van Qui’s documentary, a cross between a dark tale and a police investigation. The filmmaker awakens the ghosts of the workshop to tell us the story of this surprising manufacturer.
