HAVE YOU PRODUCED A FILM IN CONNECTION WITH FINE CRAFTS? UP TO THE 18TH OF OCTOBER 2019 YOU CAN RESPOND TO THE FIFMA CALL FOR FILMS!
The forthcoming edition of the International Film Festival for Fine Crafts will be held from the 23rd to the 26th of April 2020 at the Le Méliès cinema in Montreuil, and at the Ciné 104 in Pantin, the Cin’Hoche in Bagnolet and at the Méliès for the FIFMA for Schools designed for school pupils.
THE COMPETITION
The call for films is open to professional and amateur film directors from the world over. All film types are accepted: documentary, fiction, experimental and animated.
All films must be clearly associated with the subject of fine crafts, which they can approach in a range of different manners: architecture, fashion, landscape, anthropology, history of art, performances, fine craft creator portraits, etc. The link with the theme may also stem from the production technique (paper cut out animation, glass painting, ceramic painting, etc.)
An expert committee composed of professionals from the worlds of cinema and fine crafts will select the thirty films that will compete.
After all films have been screened, the jury will award 8 prizes, for a total value of €13,500:
- Grand Prize – €3,000
- Heritage Prize – €1,500
- Contemporary Prize – €1,500
- Short Film Prize – €1,500
- First Film Prize – €1,500
- Audience Prize – €1,500
FIFMA SCHOOL COMPETITION :
- Young Audience Prize Primary Schools – €1,500
- Young Audience Prize Secondary/High Schools – €1,500

*N.B.: To submit your film to compete in the FIFMA, 2 steps are involved: first of all, you must upload your film to the FilmFest Platform if you have not yet registered. Once your film has been loaded and all mandatory fields are complete, you must then apply by means of the ‘Apply’ thumbnail. Via the FilmFest Platform, films can apply for presentation at several festivals. If you do not then apply to compete at the FIFMA, your film will not be submitted to us. To register films via the platform, you will require to purchase credits. One credit unit costs €2.50 and enables you to register 10 films to any given festival.
Filmfestplatform is the short film agency platform. Nevertheless, the FIFMA accepts both short and feature films. For films of a length in excess of 60 minutes, please enter a shorter length (<60mins) on the application form and inform us by e-mail of the actual length of your production. Films over 60 minutes can nevertheless be entirely uploaded via this platform.
